Fall Essentials To Enhance your Mood

With life still not back to normal (very few in-person classes and masks for all), we are looking for anything to enhance this year’s school experience.


As many of you know, fall is one of the best times in Ohio (despite being different this year) because of the beautiful autumn foliage. Miami’s campus is filled with burnt orange and blissful red leaves that make walks around campus so pleasant and picture-perfect. To supplement your outdoor walks, I’ve thought of a few suggestions for simple fall essentials that will boost your mood in 2020.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

You can’t go wrong with this drink. The sweet vanilla, pumpkin, and cinnamon flavors are bound to improve your mood as well as increase your productivity, all while staying in the fall spirit. Check out Starbucks and Kofenya for the best ones.

Scented Candles

Ah, candles. These make any room feel cozy, especially while doing class or schoolwork from the comfort of your home. This year has definitely been the year of splurging on candles to ultimately enhance the home experience. Some of my favorites include: The Magnolia Home “Dwell” Bagged Candle




















Jade Rollers

Jade Rollers have become my must-have in quarantine. Every morning and every night I roll out my face for approximately 5 minutes and it leaves me feeling so refreshed and recharged. I recently started cooling my two jade rollers in the fridge for an even better effect and it has been so rejuvenating. This is the set I have:


Pillsbury Pumpkin Cookies


The one cookie that is able to muster all of your childhood memories. Definitely be sure to stock up on these for this fall season to automatically enhance your mood.

Charcuterie Boards

These are so fun to make, especially with all of your housemates. They serve as the perfect appetizer to any movie or TV series. With the long-anticipated Bachelorette playing on Tuesdays, our apartment has decided that we will be making charcuterie boards every Tuesday to pair with the drama.





Apple Cider Mimosas


The new and improved fall mimosa is bound to become your new brunch cocktail for this season. It is truly as simple to make as it sounds with 1-part champagne and 1-part chilled apple cider, and if you are looking to make it fancier coat the rims in cinnamon sugar. Yum!

Harry Potter Series

There’s no better time to watch all of the Harry Potter movies, especially with more free time on our hands. This is traditionally not my fall movie pick, but considering I have never seen the series I thought this would be the perfect time to fully invest in the intricate journey through Hogwarts. This is also a great series to watch with a group of friends.

Run/Exercise Outdoors

Enjoy the last bit of warmth by exercising outdoors. Running through campus is beautiful this time of year and is a great way to kickstart your morning. Try taking a run to Cook Field or to the Black Covered Bridge. I can guarantee that it will leave you feeling refreshed.
