It's been a little over a week since Ariana Grande released her sixth studio album, positions. I'm not the biggest Ariana fan, but being the pop culture junkie I am, I knew I had to give it a listen. Also, I was curious to see how this album would compare to her previous album thank u, next, my favorite album of hers.

Here’s my ranking of every song on the album from my least favorite to my favorite track, and my thoughts on each!

14. 34+35

To put it simply, I don't like this track. The lyrics are very cheesy and made me cringe, and because of this, I had to place it on the bottom of my ranking.

13. love language

I'm not sure if its the inconsistent beat or the ballad at the beginning that reminds me a little of the song YMCA, but I can't get on board with this one. However, I do like the chorus and I think it's the highlight lyrically of the song.

12. my hair

This is a very popular track amongst Ariana fans, so please don't come for me for this one. The whole song was very Mariah Carey-esque, and while the song exemplifies Ariana's incredible vocal range, the production and lyrics were lacking compared to other tracks on the album.

11. nasty

At first, I thought this was going to rank lower, but this track has definitely grown on me. The catchy lyrics and the beat makes it easy to dance and sing along to. I only ranked it lower because this isn't necessarily her best track lyrically on the album.

10. just like magic

Another catchy bop that I've had stuck in my head all day long. I would've ranked this one higher too, but again the lyrics are just OK. The chorus does slap though.

9. west side

While this track isn't necessarily something you can dance alone in your room, the lyrics are some of my favorite on the album. In the first verse: "I don't wanna think too much/ I just wanna feel/ You know that it ain't no rush/ Let me keep it real" is *chefs kiss*.

8. off the table (ft. The Weekend)

I love this track. It definitely gives me old, classic Ari vibes, and the lyrics are among the best on the album in my opinion. The beat is a tad slow, saying that I guess I just expected a track featuring The Weekend to be more "single worthy."

7. positions

When I first listened to this, I thought it was a meh track. However, it's definitely a grower, and after a few listens I like it a lot. It's not my favorite single of hers, but it has a good beat, stellar vocals, and not-so-cheesy catchy lyrics.

6. six thirty

I absolutely love the first verse of this song. The dreamy vocals and production is perfection on this track. While the chorus is simple, it really compliments the dreamy tone of the song.

5. safety net (ft. Ty Dolla $ign)

I expected not to like this track for some reason, but I was pleasantly surprised! The beat has a dark and mysterious vibe which I love. The highlight of the song has to be the lyrics in the pre-chorus and the chorus. It's so good. "You're making me forget my past/ Never thought I'd feel like that again/ I came to peace with my path/ Now you got me off track" are some of my favorite lyrics on the album. However, I feel like I could've done without Ty Dolla $ign's verse.

4. shut up

I really like the production and the lyrics on this track, and my only complaint is that the song is too short. Definitely a great way to start off the album.

3. obvious

The. Vocals. She did not have to pop off this hard. Lyrically, this has to be one of her best tracks on the album. I LOVE the pre-chorus and the first verse. Stream this one for sure!

2. motive (ft. Doja Cat)

I could definitely see this being a single at some point since it has a great beat, lyrics that pop off, and of course because Doja is featured on the track. The pre-chorus is my favorite part of the song, and I loved Doja's verse. Although, I wouldn't have minded if she had another verse since she was one of the highlights of the track.

1. POV

I knew to f fans havewould be hard to top, but overall I really enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. I would encourage anyone who might not be a huge Ariana fan like me to give this album a chance because lyrically I do think it's one of her better albums. Happy streaming! f my favorite songs by Grande. A great song to conclude the album.
