Dancing with the Stars Season 35, So Far

Dancing with the Stars has increased in popularity over the last few years, mainly due to the younger social media-focused pros and frequent online posting. This season is no exception, with the premiere breaking the voting record for any premiere of Dancing with the Stars so far. The current cast has lots of great characters and it’s hard to say there is any clear winner at this moment. Fans are loving Ezra Frech and his incredibly impressive dances, despite being a Paralympian. Frech is paired up with Daniella Karagach, who is widely known as one of the very best pros. Daniella’s husband Pasha Pashkov, another pro on the show, is paired with Amber Glenn, the Olympic ice skater, who is consistently showing that she deserves one of the top spots on the leaderboard. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw both Ezra and Amber in the finale.
Rylee Arnold is one of the most popular pros for the younger generation. She is most definitely responsible for the surge in Gen Z viewership over the past few years. She’s paired with Connor Wood, a comedian and co-host of Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast. Their funny dynamic and clear friendship is a big draw for voters, even with Connor continuously being underscored in comparison to some of the other male contestants like Jackson Olson and Tyler Cameron.
Another popular duo on the show right now is Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa. Ezra is another one of the younger pros that brings a lot of modern trends into the ballroom, and he especially has focused on bringing some of Julia’s iconic movie dances into her performances. It’s no surprise that 10 Things I Hate About You is an incredibly popular movie for our age group, so it’s great to see Julia participate on the show. Her last dance features moves from one of her other popular movies, Save the Last Dance, with Ezra incorporating scenes from the movie into his choreography. This week is dedication night, and with Julia dedicating her dance to Heath Ledger and performing to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, you absolutely won’t want to miss watching their performance.
Season 35 has had a great start despite some of the almost unavoidable drama we see take place in the show each year, but I know I can’t wait to continue watching and voting for my favorite contestants each week.
