Oxford day and weekend trips you should take this fall

We all love Oxford, especially in the fall. However, sometimes a day trip or weekend excursion is a fun way to spice up your semester and go someplace new. Although I’ve always enjoyed my Oxford weekends, some of the trips I’ve taken with friends have made for great memories. Consider making a playlist of all your favorite songs and driving to try a new coffee place or going shopping.
Elliott Coffee, though located in Kentucky, is only about an hour drive from Miami. It has a unique setup with a small station for taking coffee orders inside and heated seating areas outside, as well as a barn next door that has been renovated with cute hang out spots. It was one of my favorite day trips I’ve taken with my friends, just to get a coffee.
To me, taking time out of my Friday or weekend to go to Trader Joe’s in Cincinnati is worth the day trip too, especially now that they have all of their fall items out. There are plenty of coffee and lunch spots nearby as well, my roommates and I make a point of trying a new one each time we go.
Visiting friends at other schools is also a fun way to see a new place. I’ve taken multiple weekend trips to Columbus to visit friends and family, which is always great for more mainstream shopping. Walking around the German Village and going to the bookstore has been one of my favorite parts of Columbus, as well as shopping at Easton.
There are so many small towns nearby, and bigger cities that aren’t too far away. Make a list of potential trip ideas for when you are looking for something fun and different to do, there are tons of cool spots just waiting for you!
