Falling into October: Fashion, Flavor and Spice

By Tayler Nowak

As much-anticipated chilly mornings and pumpkin spice lattes take over, so does the prime month of fall fashion. So, how can we add some flavor and spice to our October looks? With bold colors and a diversity of flavors this year, there’s a lot to choose from. Which styles are you falling into this October?

The Bold and Maximalist

Brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada are featuring pops of red in their fall style, such as statement pieces or even a red purse, the maximalist's best friend. Red lends a large personality to a styled outfit. Chunky jewelry is another friend to the maximalist girls; you can never go wrong with layering necklaces and bracelets. This season features the knee-length black boot for a night out or to enhance your Halloween costume.

The Boho Chic

In the fall, you can never go wrong with a good pair of bootcut or low-rise jeans. Style them with a black belt and a lace top. The country roads to city streets style has resurfaced this year with maxi skirts and lace dresses, a style perfect for someone who likes to experiment with textures. This year, brands such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren are pairing riding boots with vintage wear, adding more flair to the runway.

The Gym Girlies

No matter what time you’re working out, as long as you’re doing it in style, you can never go wrong. Autumn provides the perfect weather for sweatpants and a cozy jacket. Brands like Zara and Lululemon are featuring funnel-neck cozy jackets to keep you warm and stylish throughout the upcoming season.

The Sweater Weather

Whether you’re obsessed with oversized sweaters or prefer a more fitted look, there is a lot to consider when styling your next sweater. For oversized sweaters, you can easily pair them with shorts to create a baggy dress effect, while a fitted or cropped sweater pairs perfectly with loose, low-rise denim.
