Spring's Hottest Color: Butter Yellow

By Campbell Masys

As we ditch the cold weather and heavy sweaters come springtime, we find a new color to embody the warmth and joy of the new season: yellow.

After a summer of pink and “Barbiecore” and a fall of cherry red, it is time for the next bright color to spice up your style. It was clear from spring New York and Paris Fashion Week that “butter yellow” or “lemon drop” would be the color of this season. Sandy Liang, JW Anderson, and Burberry Spring/Summer collections dazzled audiences with the new feature color.

The pale yellow provides a pop of color without being too much, perfect for both minimalists and maximalists. Akin to cream and beige, this shade is an easy swap for a perfect springtime look.

After a long, cold winter the reminder of sunshine and warmth is a total mood booster. The shade has quickly filled the new arrival sections of many retailers as the color increases in popularity. From baby tees and dresses to purses and jewelry, it is easy to find a way to incorporate the cheery color into your wardrobe this spring. Whether you are working 9-5, hitting the gym or out on the town with friends, you can incorporate the warm hue into your look.

The buttery yellow shade will be around for the season and months to come. It is easy to pair with neutrals and the staples you already have and will prove to be an instant mood booster. There is something yellow to love for everyone.
