Buy the ticket and book the trip

Life is filled with stressors and difficult decisions. Between work and other obligations, it's easy to forget to live your life. I’ve been in the position where I was so overwhelmed by my workload that I simply couldn’t bring myself to do anything, so I’d just sit there. That’s when I decided that I needed to take time for myself. I needed to stop overthinking everything and do fun things that make me happy. Otherwise, what’s the point?
I love to travel and there’s nothing I enjoy more than a live show, so I do my best to incorporate those things into my life as much as I can. Unfortunately, these things aren’t always cheap, but I’ve been lucky enough to have opportunities to make it work.
I’m a firm believer that you should always book the trip or buy the ticket. If it’s something that matters to you and you’re able to make it work, it’s always worth it. Sometimes it can be scary, but if it’s what will bring you joy and you can make it work feasibly and logistically, the only thing keeping you from potentially having a once-in-a-lifetime experience is yourself. Don’t be the reason you miss out on an incredible opportunity.

I’ve met some of my best friends either on trips or at shows, and those friendships are ones I know will last a very long time. Having that shared experience or interest with someone is something that can be so special; nothing else compares.
If I didn’t take the leap and get on a plane by myself for the first time, I wouldn’t have some of the most important memories and relationships of my life. I truly believe that my travels and experiences are a significant part of who I am. Traveling alone and seeing shows by myself helped me to realize what I was capable of.
Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and what’s familiar and safe to truly understand who you are and what you can do. My self-confidence skyrocketed when I started traveling and adventuring by myself. I wouldn’t be who I am without these trips and side quests.
Money comes back (within reason, don’t put yourself into debt for this), not all opportunities do. Book the flight, take the trip, see the show you’ve been contemplating going to. You never know what you’ll experience or who you’ll meet.
It’s always worth it.
