Madison Beer's new single “Bittersweet” has made a sensational impact on the music community. Her music and social media presence have thrust her forward in popularity, only amplified by the release of this new single. It is captivating listeners through its emotional duality, contemporary pop sound and relatability.

The song is a precursor to Beer's new album "Locket," which is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026. Beer said in a caption of one of her recent Instagram posts that this album means the world to her and she has never been prouder.

Beer became prevalent in the music industry in 2012 after being discovered on YouTube through one of her song covers. Justin Bieber ended up tweeting a link to Beer covering one of his songs, ultimately leading to her signing a deal with Island Records.

Since then, she has released two albums before “Locket”: “Life Support” and “Silence Between Songs.” However, Beer's debut in the music industry was an extended play, “As She Pleases,” that features three singles: “Dead,” “Say It to My Face” and “Home with You.”

Through these albums, Beer has climbed her way up in the music industry; her powerful vocals, artistry, writing and production making her stand out. Her second studio album, “Silence Between Songs,” received a Grammy nomination for Best Immersive Audio Album, the first Grammy nomination in her career.

However, Beer's climb to success was not easy. Beer has been open in interviews and on social media about her long-term battles with her mental health. She talked with ELLE Magazine about her struggles with self-harm and being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, both of which have greatly impacted her life.
