Autumn is the perfect season to curl up in a blanket, make a hot drink and rewatch your favorite romantic comedies. Whether that be “When Harry Met Sally” or “You’ve Got Mail,” there are plenty of options when it comes to choosing an aesthetic fall movie or show to inspire the best autumn day.
Walking to your favorite coffee shop to get a warm cup of coffee like Lorelai Gilmore from “Gilmore Girls” is the perfect way to start the day. Feeling the cool breeze of leaves falling from the trees around you, while your hands warmly wrap around the coffee cup, triggers an indescribable feeling that only the start of fall evokes. Enjoying this and a slice of pumpkin bread while listening to “We Fell in
Love in October” by girl in red and reading “To Kill A Mockingbird” (one of yours and Rory Gilmore’s favorite books) puts you in the mood to go for a walk.
You stroll through town, the leaves fluttering down, and find your small town’s central gazebo to pause and continue reading while you wait for your close-knit group of friends to meet you. As soon as everyone arrives, you decide that it’s time for some fall activities like going to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. You navigate your run-down F-150 through the country backroads playing “There She Goes” by the La’s to arrive at the nearest farm, finding the ripest of apples to pick while frolicking through the orchards in your chunky knit sweater and UGG boots.
Once your woven picnic basket is overflowing with red, you decide it’s time to find some pumpkins. You arrive at the pumpkin patch strewn about with Halloween decorations and Thanksgiving cornucopias and make your way along the gravel path to find the smoothest pumpkins. You and your friends trudge along to get back to the truck, finding yourselves placing the massive pre-carved pumpkins onto the truck bed.

Driving home, with the sun already setting, you feel a sense of nostalgia and pure happiness wash over you. Feeling grateful for the fleeting moments with friends, you arrive home and put a batch of Pillsbury pumpkin cookies into the oven, and begin to hollow out your fresh pumpkins. These pumpkins are suddenly jack-o-lanterns, lit with candles burning inside them. You hear the oven timer start to buzz and take out the cookies from the oven. Cookies still warm, you curl up with a blanket on the couch and sip steaming hot chocolate. You put on a classic fall rom-com, “When Harry Met Sally,” and allow yourself to slip into a calm, deep sleep, ready to conquer whatever autumn brings you the next morning.
